Sweet & Salty Pretzels

Super easy to make and just a little addictive. Great for a snack or even to crumble on top of vanilla ice cream! Maybe not the healthiest... but yummy! This is really easy to double; I just made the recipe for 8oz since that is the typical size GF bag of pretzels.

Sweet & Salty Pretzels

recipe notes

- Substitute canola oil or coconut oil for the optional vegetable oil in the chocolate drizzle. - To best drizzle the optional chocolate coating, either use a spoon or place the white chocolate mixture into a plastic bag, cut off a tiny bit of the corner, and squeeze. (Make sure that its all tightly closed up first!!)

STEPS

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  • In a large pyrex bowl, melt the butter (I put it in the microwave at 50% power for 2.5 minutes then add time in 20 second increments until its melted). Let butter cool for 5 minutes.

  • Once cooled, add the egg white and pure vanilla to the eggwhite. Mix until smooth.

  • In a small bowl, mix together cinnamon and sugar. Set aside.

  • Add the pretzels to the large bowl with the egg mixture and toss until evenly covered. Then sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the prezels and gently mix until coated.

  • Place the pretzels onto the baking sheet, spreading as evenly as possible.

  • Bake for 15 minutes, stirring the pretzels after 8 minutes.

  • Let the pretzels cool, then break apart to serve.

  • Optional "Cinnamon Roll" steps:

    • While the pretzels are cooling, melt the white chocolate chips  with vegetable oil in the microwave, checking and stirring at 30 second intervals. Do not overheat.

    • Drizzle the chocolate mixture over some or all of the cooled pretzels, then let chocolate cool before breaking apart.
