Shhh... Copy-cat Chick-fil-A Nuggets

Crispy and bite-sized. Great for lunches, or even a little snack. Since this involves frying, its better for someone responsible to cook this.

Shhh... Copy-cat Chick-fil-A Nuggets

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces)

  • 1/4 cup pickle juice (dill is always good)

  • 1 egg

  • 1/4 cup milk

  • 1/2 cup GF cup for cup flour

  • 1 TBSP powdered sugar

  • 1/2 tsp paprika

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/4 to 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper for anyone who likes it spicy)

  • 1 cup oil for frying (I like vegetable)

- Serve with ketchup or mustard.

STEPS

  1. Slice chicken breasts into 1/2" pieces.

  2. Marinate in pickle juice for 30 minutes to an hour.

  3. Beat together the egg and the milk in a bowl. 

  4. Mix together the flour, sugar, and spices in another bowl. 

  5. With a fork, take each piece of chicken and dip in the egg mixture so covered. Then dip chicken into the flour mixture and fully coat. Place onto a plate.

  6. Heat the oil in a skillet until it is 350 degrees (so it gets crunchy).

  7. Fry each piece of chicken for 2 minutes on each side, until brown, crunchy, and cooked through. 

  8. Place cooked pieces on paper towel and blot the tops to remove oil.
